What Metro RESA’s numbers show

Georgia’s published chronic absenteeism rate is 20.4%. 6 of the 11 districts are above it. Highest: Atlanta Public Schools 31.9%, Clayton County 28.8%, Rockdale County 28.3%.
Georgia’s published graduation rate is 87.22%. 3 of the 11 districts fall below it. Lowest: DeKalb County 81.64%, Gwinnett County 85.39%, Clayton County 86.32%.
In EOG grades 3–8 — English Language Arts, the published Beginning Learner share runs as high as 45.7% in Clayton County, followed by DeKalb County at 40.8%, Atlanta Public Schools at 37.3%. Beginning Learner is Georgia’s own lowest achievement level — students not yet demonstrating proficiency in the grade-level standards.
Georgia publishes chronic absenteeism separately for students with and without disabilities — 25.1% and 19.6% statewide. In 11 of the 11 districts the published rate for students with disabilities is the higher of the two.
Out-of-school suspension, as published: highest in Rockdale County at 10.9%, Atlanta Public Schools at 9.9%, Douglas County at 8.9%. Georgia publishes no statewide suspension figure in this file, so there is no state rate to compare these against.

Georgia publishes statewide figures for chronic absenteeism (including separately by student group), graduation rate and enrollment characteristics, so those are shown against the state. Georgia does not publish a statewide row for assessment results or discipline, so those are shown on their own absolute scale with no state comparison — rather than against an average we would have had to compute ourselves. Metro RESA does not publish a regional figure of its own for anything. The four tiles near the top of this page are the one exception: an enrollment-weighted average across Metro RESA’s own 11 member districts, calculated by Standard Education and labeled as such, shown next to Georgia’s real published statewide figure for comparison. Every other figure on this page remains exactly as published — never averaged, blended or ranked by us.
