Georgia’s published chronic absenteeism rate is 20.4%. 3 of the 17 districts are above it. Highest: Walker County 27.8%, Bartow County 25.0%, Dade County 23.1%.
Georgia’s published graduation rate is 87.22%. 1 of the 17 districts falls below it. Lowest: Dalton Public Schools 83.46%.
In EOC — Algebra: Concepts and Connections, the published Beginning Learner share runs as high as 53.4% in Chattooga County, followed by Walker County at 34.0%, Rome City at 30.8%. Beginning Learner is Georgia’s own lowest achievement level — students not yet demonstrating proficiency in the grade-level standards.
Georgia publishes chronic absenteeism separately for students with and without disabilities — 25.1% and 19.6% statewide. In 15 of the 17 districts the published rate for students with disabilities is the higher of the two.
Out-of-school suspension, as published: highest in Rome City at 8.8%, Paulding County at 6.6%, Polk County at 5.7%. Georgia publishes no statewide suspension figure in this file, so there is no state rate to compare these against.
